The club for breed lovers living in Wales.

It is with regret and sadness that we announce that our Patron Les Lewis sadly passed away on Saturday May 6th.
Les and his wife Ivy, bred, owned and showed Great Danes under the Daneon affix. They were members of the Northern Great Club before moving to South Wales.
Having settled in Wales they joined our club, The Great Dane Club of South Wales as it was known then, in its early days as founder members. Les served as our Chairman for many years and then after his retirement from this post in honour of the long service that he had given to our club was appointed as our Patron. He was well respected in the dog world and judged at Championships Show level and also served on the committee of the Welsh Kennel Club. Les was also present at the original meeting which formed the Dane of the Year Open Show and was a great supporter of this event. He was a true gentleman who will be sadly missed.

Our condolences go to Ivy and his family.

His funeral is being held at Corbets Tey Crematorium, Upminster, Essex RM14 2UY on Wednesday May 24th with the service starting at 1.40pm. Anyone wishing to send a card can send it to Ivy c/o 101 The Beeches, Hubert Rd, Brentwood, Essex CM14 4NA. Donations to Great Dane Care in lieu of flowers.
